In Noida, Uttar Pradesh, the police from the Dankaur station apprehended a suspect involved in cow smuggling during an encounter on Thursday night. This information was confirmed by the authorities.
Sudhir Kumar, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone III), reported that the Dankaur police were conducting checks near the Chapargadh bridge late at night when they became suspicious of a group on motorcycles. When the police signaled them to stop, the individuals attempted to flee.
The police pursued the suspects and managed to corner them, at which point the suspects opened fire on the police team with the intent to kill. In response, the police returned fire.
Kumar noted that one of the bullets fired by the police struck a suspect in the leg, later identified as Raja, a 23-year-old resident of Dehra village in Hapur district. Raja has since been admitted to the hospital.
Authorities revealed that Raja has multiple cases registered against him for cow smuggling and illegal possession of firearms in various locations, including Hapur. The police recovered a motorcycle, a country-made pistol, and cartridges from his possession.
